Traveller's reviews and ratings
The hostel is in a problematic area. The room was very small and didn't have conditions for 5 persons. They don't give towels and they don´t notify the customers about it. Also there are only one sheet in the bed and no pillowcase. You have to cover yourself with a blanket.
The kitchen was always dirty, there were always dishes in the sink and if you needed something to do your food you have to clean the mess that the other customers did.
Also there was no tableware for every customers. We had to buy disposable plates and cutlery so we could eat. Although this has to do with the education of the other clients, the managment staff did nothing about it. The common areas are very small and only fit there 4 or 5 persons.
For me and my group, the only aspect positive in the 5 days we stayed in the hostel, was the location. The hostel is near a metro station which take us to the center of the city.
We won't stay there again for sure.

Great, thank you!
Super clean, cheap and right next to to the metro, parfait! And as the name of the hostel suggests, the staff are really friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Best value for money in Paris.

Centrally located in Montmartre, central north Paris. 15 minutes walk from Sacre Coeur and 30 from Montmartre cemetery.
Helpful staff.
Clean but crammed rooms.
Wall sockets not working.
Would recommend if you are on a tight budget, otherwise look elsewhere.

The hostel was in fact quite ok. If you set no claims, it is maximum for a night in order. The bad thing is that this hostel in a really lousy district. The shower is very clean, but unfortunately the "blankets" were versift. At night, it is a bit noisy. But it has a metro station right outside the hotel and is thus well in the center of Paris. Although everything is a cheap variant there very closely, but as I said, for a night.

I stayed with a friend for 3 nights at this hostel and we can safely say that it was our worst experience in a hostel. They had horrible organization which resulted in us changing rooms on the first and second morning. Moreover they seem to overcrowd the room by adding an extra flimsy bed into a room that was originally for 2-3 people. After we were switched to a room with a shower (which was our original booking), the maximum temperature of the water still left us feeling chilly. As if these weren't enough, the staff were not exactly the friendliest people either. In terms of location, the nearest metro station would be 'Barbes-Rochecourt' which is not the best neighbourhood in the city (this is verified with shocked expressions of my Parisienne friends). However the one good thing about the hostel is that the metro was directly opposite which meant that once getting out of the station it was a mere 1 minute walk back. This experience has put us off hostels for a while and unless you are looking for a harsh experience I would not recommend you book it.

WORST HOTEL OF MY LIFE!
The worst Hostel in my life! Even in poor countries as in Vilnius is comparable to a Palace!
Friend hotel's = - cold water - not heating - shabby home and staff unpleasant, rude, step commercial and learned barely speak French - horrible, dirty, poorly insulated room - no intimacy - flights in rooms - as a key while it is 3 in the House....
By mon cul | The 02-12-2012
Good price-quality ratio.
However, the beds on two floors (3 bunk beds) are quite DESAGREABLES and DESADAPTES for adults. With 50 cm of height between your bed and at the top, you're guaranteed you knocking the front a maximum of times on the cu edge reads at the top and cannot read sitting on the bed.
More soon pretty much clean.
Staff quite courtoi.

Hotel frankly very dirty shower without lock, cold, and light, I caught scandalous buttons related to the dirt of this hotel, I have noted them my buttons, but they had fun then I will send the health services. Really outrageous.

-Horrible Organization (people fit into the rooms to spend the night) - permanent noise (door is not closed, people speak aloud all night at the home, in the corridor at the entrance or in the lounge) - comfort leaves to be desired - the temperature in the House was unbearable limit, it was cold... very cold - I left at 5 in the morning because I did not close the eye of the night, this was not possible - A good point for hospitality (the guy in the home is nice even though he speaks very) well to you

The hostel is very well located, just at the exit of the Metro barbès, therefore ready the stations North and austerlitz. The staff is very friendly and very varied customer. However, the place clearly lack of maintenance: there was a pipeline with a large water leak in the House (a cloth used to cover...) and not light in sanitary. The dirty dishes and outdated commodities dragging in the kitchen: the last day, there are cockroaches in the sink and fridge e!. The Court is nice as a place to eat, but there is no space for shelter during rain....
By patricia | The 11-05-2011
I wouldn't recommend it can't: it was loud, the triple beds meant that there was almost no space in the room, and on top of that not all meant to be en-suite rooms are actually in suite: some provide you only with toilet, and no bathroom. All windows of the hostel overlook the courtyard, so it's at night, hard and loud to get some sleep. In addition, I booked a 4 - bed room but it turned out that due to their messy I was allocated to bookkeeping was 7 - bed room for the same price. I saw some cockroaches in the kitchen.

the home is mediocre .the people are not effort to parler.lors for a reservation on the internet, print your ticket well, otherwise you will have to repay the deposit.... not clean sheets... instead of meal outside... Fortunately it was not raining...

This is the worst hostel where I had the misfortune to stay. Located in a relatively dangerous Paris (they are the smuggling of cigarettes in the face...), a band of thugs tore me my bag with a razor blade nearby. Cockroaches by scores in the kitchen, human rats eat food you leave there, we've missed during 2 days, a single key by Chamber which complicates much the vas and forth and security (it embarré me in my room accidentally one day...) and so on. Hostel Paris cheapest and certainly the most poor. We meet all of the cool people...

I have booked in the Friend's Hostel before reading all the negative comments, illogical tell me - you, either... I started to read all your comments and I began to be very afraid, but then very very afraid. Talked about me a little on district, I am a young woman travelling alone... I let you imagine my state of mind... And then frightening this bed story given to someone else, is it not? I therefore, about a week before my arrival, called the hotel to make sure that my reservation was well taken into account, that I was certified. And result: I have yet had no problem, when I returned to the hotel, a Friday evening, about 23: 30 the street was empty, at the exit of the subway, I just had to walk 3 minutes to reach the hotel, the home was the most charming, despite a slight problem of language, and I had a bit of difficult to find my room but staff eventually kindly lead me there. Good surprise, instead of a House that I had to share 6, I found myself with only 3 people sharing my dormitory. Bathroom was rather clean and the bed also. Only concerns at the level of it, I have to take the only bed that was left, was in height, and being small, I had trouble to used me to scale, but it is quickly. In conclusion, I would say that there is no fear to be reserved in this hotel, it just well think to send the security code of your credit card with which you have made your booking with your booking number and think to arrive to their which you said happen. If you arrive later than expected, think to call before the time you said or for if you do not want to see your bed to someone of another ' 3 = I wish you a good stay!
